Mk678G-U.S Value

Log in to see fewer ads
Hi all,
I have an opportunity to purchase an actual U.S. marked Mk678G-U.S pistol.
Its bnib with all accompanying paperwork including the military supplemental manual.
I have no idea of value on this particular firearm and would appreciate a general consensus from the well informed members here. This is a private transaction and the gentleman offering the gun claims there are very few in civilian hands.
Thanks in advance.

Depends on how many you consider to be few I suppose, they are excellent shooters and in current Gunbroker complete sales there are two, one moderately rough one sold for $380 and a very clean one for $500. As you describe I'd say $600 would be a very fair price. I often wish I had mine back.

yes

Proceed with caution on a U.S. marked pistol. Sold by Ruger as never issued and it went for $3K with a great deal of interest and bidding.

I think the non U.S. pistols like this one bring the $600 or less pricing.

To be clear this is the U.S. marked version - not the civilian marked government target version.

A quick check on the serial # might be interesting https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...9SOsgDIQdfBVG2

Serial number is within the range U.S. marked versions were made.
Serial lookup says it shipped in 2010.
Does that sound right?
What does one look for to confirm authenticity?
Here's a few pics.

Curious as to why the value is so high on this particular model.
I understand that there are only 25 - 35 in civilian hands, but what about the thousands that the military recieved?
What's up with those and could they not flood the market at some point and cause an overall decrease in value?

Shipping date I would have no idea. DOM would be no later than 1983.

The vast majority of them were destroyed.

The authentic U.S. marked pistols are of high interest to some collectors and will generally bring $2,000 or more. There are about 40 or so known to be in private hands.
