Whats the difference between the 76 and a 102, I have the oportunity to buy either one of these or a S&W 422 for about the same price. Which would you recomend and why?

I have not examined a Model 102, but strictly from the photos here:

I would guess there is very little difference. Personally, based on the experiences of some friends with the 422, I would take either Beretta first.

Hi Scout800,
According to "Beretta Automatic Pistols" by J.B Wood, page 126, the 76 and 102 are identical. Given a choice between the 102 and the S&W422, I agree with Stryker60 and would opt for the 102.

A shooting buddy has a 622 and it isn't very accurate, and to my eyes it's not pretty. Part of the problem with my 76 was that it wasn't broken in. Whoever owned it must have not shot it, ever. After shooting it a few hundred rounds, the groups tightened up somewhat. I am very happy with the 76 and it was money well spent.

No Worries

I think I might try that 76 conversion on my 70s

Looks real slick.

But wondering if it will lock the barrel up any tighter.
