Scope Mounting on a Winchester Wildcat

Just a heads up.

I've read several posts over the past few months concerning the grooves for mounting a scope on the Winchester Wildcat. While the manual says they are 3/8" grooves, owners are reporting that rings for rimfire rifles are not clamping tightly enough.

Today I received a second B-Square mount adapter (# 17015) sold as an air gun accessory. It clamps to 9.5~13.5mm grooves and has a Picatinny/Weaver rail on top. While I have a specific use in mind for this adapter, just out of curiosity I tried it on my Winchester Wildcat. It clamps very tightly and would work beautifully. A set of low Weaver-style rings and you're in business up to a 50mm objective scope. They cost about $17 plus shipping from SWFA or MidSouth.

They also work on the Izhmash CM-2.

AWESOME! Thank you for the headsup! What is the quality of that B-Square Weaver/Picatinny Rail and would you suggest it as a permanent solution for a Winchester Wildcat/Tula TOZ-78 Picatinny Rail?

SAMMY!

Thanks for the above information, these rifles, along with the Romanian M69s, seem to have reputations for scope rails that vary in width and configuration. I was lucky to hit a combination that fit the 1st time, the Leupold rimfire tip-off mounts that don't require removal of rear sight and clear front sight as well.

Headsup. I purchased the B-Square 17015 Dovetail to Picatinny rail for the Winchester Wildcat and it is NOT Picatinny spec. After the Picatinny rings failed to mount on the rail, I installed Leupold 56524 Rifleman Rings which fit just fine and have become a temporary solution.

I recently got a Winchester Wildcat heavy-barrel model, and found that the Millett rimfire angle-loc rings worked perfectly.
