My brother in law manages the Prude Guest Ranch just north Of Ft Davis Texas. It is a guest ranch that sponsors all sorts of activities.

Among those are shooting sports such as the WesTex Run and Gun which happens there a few time per year.

I highly recommend you check it out if you are a R&G type.

I didn't see this when you posted back in July. I know there are several RFC members in the DFW area. I've had the privilege of meeting a few. In fact it was a RFC memeber who's responsible for my moving to TX from N. IL 5 years ago. I'd love the opportunity to meet a few more of you guys

It would be nice if we could get together somewhere and do a little shooting. I'd be up for anything though

I'm in Flower Mound (just south of Denton) but I'm willing to drive anywhere that's decided

Even though I’m blessed with my own acreage and can walk out my back door and shoot you are also blessed with multiple options for shooting being in flower mound.

Are you closer to 35W or 35E?

Either way you are close to two indoor “eagle in Lewisville” gun ranges with 25 yard and one of them with up to 100 yard.
Then the outdoor gun range “quail creek” off 1171 and 35.



I have tried a couple of times with no takers, if you want to put together a get together on a Sunday after church “if possible “ I would be up for an afternoon of paper punching.

One area I could see myself move to is East Texas after visiting some relatives near Sulfur Springs last year. How flood prone in the area and how much hail damage can one expect in a typical 5 or 10 year period???

I've been to both. Quail Creek is where we usually go for outdoor shooting. I like the place but it's been frustrating too. I typically don't like shooting with the general public because I see too many stupid things. Maybe it's because I was a RSO for several years and my family owned a large outdoor range where I worked for the first 35 years of my life. The last 3 times at Quail Creek I've seen kids start to walk out to check targets before the range was called cold. I call them on it and Dad gives me a dirty look. Those same visits I've had guns pointed at my head with actions closed twice. One was a little girl. Dad was focusing on what the older daughter was doing and not paying attention to the younger. I don't think he liked it when I told her to please not point that rifle at me. I was reasonably polite about it too considering I just had a closed rifle pointed at my head. We left shortly after.

I intend to go back to Quail Creek when my lady wants to shoot with me but lately I've been using the 100 yd tube range underneath the Bass Pro that's 10 min away from my house. It's a little more expensive but I'm shooting by myself and there's no wind or weather to worry about.

We had a nice indoor range right down the street from us but unfortunately it was only in business about a year before it closed down.

I live SE of Sulphur Springs, about 30 minutes worth. I have been here 40-some years flooding and hail have never been an issue.
