Question Marlin 25 Scope/Base Questions

Anyone know of a product like DIP picatinny rail that would fit a Marlin model #25? Just not having any luck with rimfire rings "staying" in place in a hunting situation with full sized scopes, such as a 3-9X40mm.

Thanks in advance everyone!

What rings have you used? Was the surface cleaned to remove all oil? I have a 4-16x40 AO mounted on mine with a set of cheap rings that came with another inexpensive scope. Been rock solid.

I've never had any ring creep on either my 25N or my Glenfield 25, and I just use the factory dovetails with 3-9x32 scopes.

Warne .22 rings, like the link shows below;

http://www.opticsplanet.com/warne-22...ish-41662.html

They just slip off, as we've been shooting. Everything is clean, new looking even, the rings just don't seem to "fit" the dovetail. I've thought of filing the rings engagement points to see if they will then grip a bit better. They seem a bit "rounded" to fit the dovetail properly.

Not sure.

I think you need to try some different rings, then. I've got an old set of Weaver rings on my 25N, and the G25 has the factory rings that came with the Barska scope. Neither one has shown any creep. Even during transport.

Great set of rings for most .22 grooved receivers and priced right. Never had any slip. Weaver #49192 available at Walmart.

Another vote for the Warne 7.3/22 rings, I tried a DIP rail on my Model 25, it wouldn't stay on, I had to return it to DIP. I went with the Warne 22 Caliber Medium Scope Rings 721M to mount a Vortex 4-12x 40mm AO on my Model 25, they have a reversible clip to mount either to a 3/8" (dot on clip should up for 3/8" dovetail) or 11mm dovetail. They fit perfectly and are rock solid, made of steel in the U.S., excellent quality.......
