Al, our head quarters were in the garment district, early on we had tickets to see hockey and basketball, Dick Meintal talked me into Broadway, never went to anything other than shows, saw everything from phantom to cats and many in between, no regrets marty

Al, one of the great tenors, sometimes in life, looks, where you come from is a factor. that's tragic. marty

We Yoopers call em appleknockers, if we're being polite. Snow's a big deal there whereas here its a way of life for 5mo..

Green beans were a bust, but edible, as the wife used some real bacon bits I had picked up for our every day salads. Trouble was they were smoked bacon bits of which neither of us noticed until she had thrown em into the mix. The empty bag smelled like well used old shoes!

Oh, had to take a couple swipes with the snowblower for the first time this year to drag the wheeled 96gal. garbage carts out to the curb for pickup last nite.

Taco Tues run today to Dunhams looking for a laser sight for the wife's SD pistol. no luck in the dept but snagged her a rod n Shimano reel ultra-lite rig, with matching colors!! Nice thing about a 5' ultra-lite is the little ones feels bigger and its been years since I got a 37" pike on one. Of course I'll have to break it in for her, make sure its safe n all that stuff.

Al, finish telling the story of kettle creek, both Jim and my brother passed the last year., not a good one so we pitched our army tent and the weather turned cold. started snowing before dusk. we didn't have real cold gear, all had good sleeping bags so we wern't going to freeze... next morning there was a good 8" of snow, Chuck says a foot. well the next morning I'm at the stream, jim and chuck are trying to get a fire started. this lady pulls up on the road asked jim and chuck if their ok. both say their home from viet nam, she says I'll be back. so this lady came back with a key for a cabin she owned, told us to come for dinner at the 1st bar as you cross kettle creek. so that evening we were served chops, mashed potato's. would not take any money, thanked jim and chuck for their service. so for the next 2 days we were feed again not accepting any money. so 1 night we got lucky on the poker machine. $100 and more on the 6 card machine. last night they again feed us, brought a band in thanked jim who was heading for the west coast and chuck who was off to germany. told us to just leave the key on the table and wished the guys well. we bought hat's and gloves at the trading posts, what was left was left on the kitchen table.... those folks at cross forks housed us, provided us with whatever we wanted to eat or drink all out of respect for jim and chuck's service. so All my brother, jim and I spent so much time talking about are fishing and hunting days but not more than that. something special... by the way snow was about 8" marty

" life sucks, then you die" marty
