Another Retro AR 15 Rimfire build on deck

This time it will be more Colt SP1 than 604 , have D series stock from Big Reno Gun Show ( 45.00$ ) and just ordered a Slickside blender gray upper from Brownells for 90.00$ shipped ( with coupon code) then I’ll
Order a RTB 20 inch dedicated Government profile barrel ( to be reprofiled into pencil profile ) and a Nodak Spud slabside lower . I have some original Colt bits & pieces to augment this build like my SP1 / 604 retro RIMFIRE build from some months back ...

Last small parts ( correct silver Port Door Spring ) (Colt 3 Prong FH & split washer) (correct flathead Colt grip screw & star washer) ... on way from Shark Arms so I can get upper built (Barrel reprofile & FSB install ) and finish this little beast .

Told Larry Mears (Mears Gunsmithing ) at Olde West Gun & Loan Redding Ca. to have Barrel & Front Sight Block/Tower Parkerized after reprofiling . I think this will make the Upper look more the "Original Retro" Part...

Yes I have some set up for the CMMG BHOA set up with a Conversion unit and some set up for basic dedicated builds . I like the early CMMG light Gray 20 round body sized 22 mags and always watch for used examples at shows & such ...

I really like the looks of your SP1. Iíve been tempted to build a 20Ē retro with A-2 stock and A-2 carry handle but itís hard to justify another 22 LR AR-15 when I already have four (plus 4 grandsons).

I wouldíve bought the 20 round size gray CMMG mag but I never seen any for sale in person and never got around to ordering any when they were on the market. I think the gray 20 round mag is the best looking mag for your retro build. Let us know how it shoots and functions.
