I hate long tubes. Short, stiff and handy with a can wins all day.

I like a long barrel on my big boomers, or at least on stuff with more than 100 grains powder.

For rimfire 16s for all the 22s and 18 for the 17 hmr are plenty. Unless we need sight radius or report mitigation im all in on shorty barrels as well.

I have stubby 270 wsm. 300wsm, 7 rum, 223, and 375 roogah. Have longer barreled variants of each as well.... but they dont get carried much.

Wonder how close of a footprint this is to a rem700, maybe a blind mag stock could be inserted for the dbm.

Peninsula brown bears, they leave us alone except in 16 when there was no fish. Then they got a little antsy, my part of Alaska the locals don't tolerate bad bears so they dont really last.

This not shot kinda stinks. Nobody is getting inside scoops or ship dates or hands on...

I think these are going to be a hit. I hope the micro only refers to the action and not the LOP. I love the non-tacticool stock. Not into the hangy downy magazine. I'd take a flush fit of lesser capacity. When the market normalizes, these will be available for mid $400.

Thanks for posting OP...

I think I'll take 2 - 1 .22LR and 1 .22WMR. Most likely at street prices why not get more than one....

I just noticed the barrel contours are different between the CF & steel versions. The chromoly version has a #4 taper and the CF has a #5. I like the appearance of the CF barrel but I think I'd prefer the little extra weight of the steel barrel. Either one is still pretty light. If I buy one I'll help to justify it (if only in my mind) by telling my girl this one's for her to shoot . Stock might be a little long for her though. She shoots my 10-22 with Kidd ULW barrel now that's in a Hogue OM stock. It's a little long for her. Maybe they'll offer an optional shorter butt pad

Pat,

Can I use your girl as my excuse to my wife, too?

"Honey, I have to get it, so Pat's girl can shoot it!"

Sounds reasonable and plausible?

If the street price comes in right and are as good as they're big brother, I'm thinking a 22 lr & a WMR!

Craig...

Haha Craig...for the record "my girl" is basically my wife. We're not officially married but for all practical purposes we are. So telling your wife that you're buying another rifle so mine can't shoot it may not go over so well. You can do as I am and tell your wife that you're buying it for her. You got the idea from me and some day we're all going to have a range day together so the gals can show the guys how to shoot.

I am intrigued by these BMRs. I certainly don't "need" another rifle but there's a lot of things I keep buying that I don't need.
