Ok Gentlemen,

I have uploaded the post-1964 chart to my original post at the begining of this thread. To be perfectly honest, I don't know a whole heck of a lot about the magazines after 1964, post-64 stuff is just not my cup of tea. So, if anyone has any corrections or additions I will be happy to make them as I am sure there is probably stuff I am missing.

Regards,

JWA your work is really appreciated, I'm not sure there is another compilation like this one out there anywhere, at least not one of such depth. A great contribution to a rarely addressed aspect of Winchester. Thanks!

Thanks -

I moved most of the drawings to the original post to make it easier to download everything without having to search the entire thread. I also tweaked the post-1964 page and uploaded a new one so for anyone that downloaded it last night you might want to grab the newer one (R3 P3).

Regards,

Is there anyone who can/will make this thread the new "Winchester Magzines 101" sticky?

Then add from this other magazine thread:
https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=367783

and maybe add this Single Shot Adapter thread to it:
https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=361214

Thanks for the scan!

Regards,
JWA, I just took apart and put back together a shorts only magazine, and since I did not have this information fresh in my mind, I took the route that looked 'right' and put the long tail towards the rear. Net effect--after the last round is fired, the rear of the follower comes up too high and interferes with the bolt closing. The bolt will close, but you have an extra 'bump' in the action that seems would eventually wear something out from the friction. Once I reversed the follower, short tail to the rear, you can visibly see that the rear end of the follower sits lower in the magazine, and the bolt goes home without that annoying 'catch' where previously, when reversed, the bottom of the bolt guide hits the follower.

Thanks-great info. However, I could not see the charts-just a bunch of question marks where I assume the charts were. Have they been removed?

Back to the top since there have been recent questions on magazines.

Back to the top again since there was interest in the Winchester 52 section.

I was able to repair the photobucket links so the images are mostly intact. There are still some images that are not showing from other member's posts though.

Best holiday wishes to you and yours Steve. It is kind of hidden up in the stickies so I bump it every now and then. It was a collaborated effort by a lot of people here on RFC, I just typed it up nice and pretty.

Best Regards,

Now that this thread is back on top, I'll add a link to the discussion on the Ultra-Rare Winchester Model 74 Special with Box Magazine

Note: This thread was already part of the "Very Informative Win Threads..." sticky. I also made it it's own sticky to make it easier to find in the future.
