Just bought my first lever action rifle and decided to go with a Henry Evil Roy edition this weekend. I really liked the size and styling, and can't wait to put some lead down range.

Another brave soul steps onto the slippery slope of leverguns! Welcome.

You're going to enjoy your new rifle. I have two Henrys , a Silver Boy in 22 LR and a Frontier in 22 WMR.

Both have been flawless and great fun to shoot with family & friends.

Congratulations,

John

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Looks like I'll get to go try it out Wednesday! Hopefully I'll do better than my cat and catch that darn red dot.

I made it to an indoor range Wednesday and shot about 130 rounds mix of 5 different types of ammo with zero malfunctions. The rear sight was shifted slightly left out of the box so I corrected that before heading to the range. This is the first 12 rounds at 15 yards which is the max for the range I was at. Hoping to get to an outdoor range soon.

Good Job livingintx, especially with stock sights. Couldn't have improved on that myself with a scope.

Looks like you're on your way with the new rifle. Before long you'll need a second income to feed that thing!

Thx for sharing.

I've been working as a freelancer for 12 years but going back to work full time next month. I suspect the steady and higher income will lead to more Henry rifles!

I finally got to photograph the finish on the receiver. Henry lists it as silver and on their site it looks like the same finish as the Silver Boy, but it isn't and I like this much better.

Your receiver has the brushed alloy cover.

All the options that Henry offers give each of us a chance to find one we prefer. I looked at the Evil Roys and the Silver boy, in my case, I preferred the Silver Boy, nickel plated, receiver cover.

I'm sure they are both a ball to shoot.

Thanks for the info on the finish. You have a beautiful rifle!

Thanks, likewise !

Beautiful weather here in NC this weekend so I had a great time yesterday and today out back shooting the Henrys and my 10/22s.

Hope you get a chance to get out and fire your new rifle this weekend.

Regards, John

I think I bought the same rifle on the same day lol. And I'm new to the forums as well. Between rains up here in Oklahoma I was able to get out and try mine out as well.

I asked this question in a thread I started...does you Evil Roy have white lettering or gold on the barrel? I have seen pics with the gold lettering but mine is in white (both sides "Henry repeating arms made in the USA" and the other side where is lists the caliber). Just wondering if there's any differences.
