I noticed that Fiocchi is building an ammo plant in the US..

Im hoping it will include some good match 22 LR ammo.

Reading the local news articles indicates primarily centerfire cartridges.
It'd be nice if Fiocchi started producing 22lr here in the US.
Might force CCI to improve it's quality control.
Unlikely, but here's to dreaming.

I was hoping they would have a factory outlet store at the plant. One of my brothers lives just a few minutes away from there.

Fiocchi Ammo plant

I didn’t even know fiocchi made “quality” ammo as all of their ammo i have had and used was just meh......
I have to admit it was .22wmr ammo only.

I haven’t ever met anyone that thought very much of that brand other than it went bang and was available when others were non existent.

Some of the older stuff was really good. This was the most accurate in my TC .22 Match barrel, even better than all the Eley, RWS and Lapua I tried in it. And, I don't shoot in cold weather. All of it was used during the hot summer months.

Back in the mid 1990's Fiocchi Exacta Carabina made on the Silver Stardust machinery was what just about everyone used in BR-50. Worked as well or better than Eley Tenex of those times, and it was less than half the price. I still have a brick left.

I have been told it can be very good ammo, IF made in Italy; lately I have seen numerous empty boxes in my Clubs the rubbish bin.

Next outing I must do some dumpster diving and see where it was made, Italy or third party.

If it's FiocchiUSA, it's relabeled CCI production.

Fiocchi Italia is the factory that produces some very decent 22lr.

Fiocchi Ammo plant

This is nice to know. Is the current Italian made stuff still good?

PS, it's quite decent 22lr.
I tried all the Italian made offerings at 200 yards.
Better results than the relabeled CCI production.

The Fiocchi Exacta Winter did really well.
Intended as Biathlon competition ammo.

As always, it's 22lr, some batches are better than others.

I'll be perfectly honest, even if the plant only cranks out plinking quality 9mm I'll take any good news in the fight against ammo shortages.

I'd like to dream of high quality match grade 17 hmr, or 22wmr but right now it would be nice to see less barren shelves no matter who picks up the slack.

I hear ya' CF.

For timed steel, it doesn't have to be benchrest quality.

My 929 does quite nicely with the 115 gr Fiocchi.

I have also found the TT Sport with made in Italia quite consistent in extreme spread through the chronograph. Not quite high velocity or standard velocity as it just breaks through sound barrier.

I use Fiocchi .45 230gr FMJs for pistol training, and really like it. Clean and reliable.

It says "Made in USA" on it.

Fiocchi 9mm my son bought was made in Italy.
