I found this suggestion in another thread, can't remember who suggested it. May have been smooth? I am going to order a few to see if they work:

The chamber plug offerings with the O ring that say "22 Benchrest" are for .22LR? I just ordered one, and the person I ordered from didn't know the answer. I guess I'll find out soon enough. This wild goose chase is beginning to bore me. Any suggestions here at RFC?
Yes- I simply place a small O-ring over a fired casing and close the bolt on it.
Simple, effective and airtight in almost all my guns. Sometimes I have to stack 2 O-rings, but not often. PM me your mailing addy and Iíll send you an assortment of the sizes that work for me.

Regards

The size of the O-ring that worked for me is #007 if that helps. I just ordered 10 or 'em off of EBAY

Thanks for that. I own three magnum Springer and two PCP air rifles, so I have multiple O-ring assortment boxes plus a couple hundred smaller sized ones. I found that sometimes I have to stack two smaller ones together when trying to plug semi auto barrels that tend to have a rather sharp edge on the breech face where the extractor groove comes in.

I can't remember who I bought my set from, but I've been using the same 80 piece set of tapered high temp silcone plugs on multiple calibers of guns for years now. Here is a link to a set on Amazon:

80 Piece 1/16inch to 5/16inch High Temp Silicone Rubber Tapered Plug Kit Powder Coating Custom Painting Supplies
