I got it because I thought it would be fun to have a Rough Rider knife to go with my Heritage Rough Rider revolver. Its nothing special.

Clone of the knife General Westmoreland sported in Vietnam (not hard to find images online). Elforyn material instead of Ivory, though. For the curious, Elforyn is one of the materials sourced to make Cue balls.

Thanks!

It arrived today!

(color balance of this shot all wonky due to indoor lighting)

Here's a close-up of the handle material. You can see some of the color splotches, looks almost natural.

In the last month or so, I purchased the GEC #43 in rust red jigged bone and a BRKT Wilderness Explorer fixed blade. Pleased with both.

Olsen #18 Jumbo swing guard sodbuster came in yesterday . . .

. . . a German Eye Schlieper contract knife made for Olsen in the 1970's. Bone peachseed covers with worm groove pattern woven through them. Nickel silver bolsters, front and and back. Brass hand guard in front. 4 7/8" upswept skinning blade, w/ blood fuller carbon blade. 6" closed. A big folding knife.

This is a link to a Worthpoint ad with the knife I have, but this one isn't mine.

I bought three auto opening knives at Jay's Sporting Goods in Clare, MI. They have a display case full of the best auto knives now. These became legal in Michigan a year ago. I have two Benchmades and a Buck. I really like these knives.

I actually bought this one awhile back, but had to send it up to get a sheath made.

Sheath is done by Amy over at Warlander Leather (currently Missoula MT, rumor has it she's moving to Georgia).
