Home. County Commissioners was not long. One Commissioner friend does not know when to keep her mouth closed. Trying to block Wildlife from teaching their 12 and up gun safety courses at the Wake County Range. She kept right on over and over when others were OK with Wildlife's explanation. I had a few words with her after the meeting was over.

NC Wildlife Commission has taken over operation the public part of the County indoor range. This is good. Will be run well and controlled. Old contractor was horrible. Kids ran all over the place. Video of a little kid grabbing a handgun and pointing it at some one. This is what had Commissioner worried.

Stopped by Krispy Kreme. Got 6 [what I thought was glazed cream filled] original cream filled [regular donuts with cream inside]. Got Wifey 6 chocolate covered cream filled. Told the lady was not what I wanted. She says they do not make glazed cream fills anymore. Told her the last ones like these I bought hardly had any cream in them. She said for me to call if these were that way. Well, ate one. Half had cream and rest had none. I email my complaint and told them I had been eating Krispy Kremes for 68 years. Was not happy and bring back regular glazed cream fills. Sure they won't give a hoot. Still, have to let them know. If not, they will not know.

Appointed to the "property tax review committee". Found out we have to be sworn in and under state statute. At least I get paid for this job.

TV and rest.

Good getting back at it report jnyork.

I had a bit of the wiggles today also. They must be part of the crud withdrawal.

Good report TD1
You better get back to loading, their going fast.

Shot the GP100 ,357 for the first time since putting the red dot on. I put up a 9" paper plate with a 1" bull and flung 2 rounds somewhere on the backer at 20 yards. I then stepped up to 15 yards and still no holes. Finally I stepped up to 10 yards and got 1 out of 2 on the plate at about 8 oclock just cutting the edge.
After another 10 or so rounds and cranking on some clicks I got 18 rounds into a 3.5" group at 15 yards. After I was done I realized I'm down to my last 20 rounds. I guess I better get back to loading.
Next nice day we get I'll get it on a rest and get the elevation tweaked for a 20 and 50 yard medium. With the same loads my Blackhawk worked good on steel shooting about 1" low at 20, and would run about 2"s high at 50.

Shredded up the leftover chuckroast from last night and heated with a little of the leftover juice. Had some good eaten samiches.
Got done shredding the roast and turned toward the full length double back door and all I could see was deer. There was 5 of them about 15 yards from the door, taking turns staring at me. After about 15 minutes they wondered over to the neighbors, and I finally got a chance to grab the camera and sneak out. It was just about dark and the auto focus was iffy. I only ended up with three iffy pics out of about 25.

I pray for the best for Ryan Newman. Those were some horrific hits.

Got six 8'x4' frames made out of rough-cut cedar 2x6s. Next job is for me to till up roughly 25' swath next to the house, about 3' wide on the south side. This will be for blackberry bushes.

Nice day again today, up in the 70s and sunny.
Go get a Honda FG110 and thank me later

It was yeehaw fun till then.

Can I get a tax break if I show up with the right crispy cremes Mayor? Hmmm?

Good range and bambi report Hawk.
Deer here were rolling early tonight with the falling barometer I suspect.
Last night I saw a neighbor 2 doors down in the woods putting out bambi grits or sumpin. I figured someone in the hood had to be doing it; not allowed in the city. Don't matter to me.

Still waiting on the no show 3 p.m. snowstorm.

Pics look fine to me. Can tell they are deer.

So, who won the 'go fast turn left' derby?

Shall skip my usual drivel. The only report I have that I think is likely valid is that Ryan Newman suffered very serious injuries, but they are not life threatening. I pray that is correct. Another source is saying that NASCAR will be making an official announcement soon.

Actually it was a statement made by Roush-Fenway(sp?) Racing a few minutes ago now, thru NASCAR confirming that his injuries are serious, but not life threatening, according to the doctors.

It was a horrible crash; the kind you never want to see.

Fox came @ 11:15 and left @ 11:23 p.m.. Finn was already in bed hence lights out and tv turned off as soon as the alarm went off. The red fox was observed carefully while picking up raw pork chop scraps with Swarovski 8x56 binos in the dim light.
I need a staked live chicken. Err, pet.

Went down to the (south) park today.

Gooses played, gulls flew, several eagles were cutting lazy-eights in the sky.

Mister Kingfisher had lunch with us.
