Eagerly awaiting getting my grubby hands on my new Henry....but while I wait I need to buy some rings from the scope grooves.

I’d like them to be as low as possible and I’ll be installing a hammer extension.

Thoughts?

Great idea. Go to your LSG and see what they have or even Wal-M should have some.

Most .22 scopes come with rings. I put a low cost Tasco 3x7 .22 scope from WalMart and at 25 to 50 yards my H001T will put all its shots in the same ragged hole when rested on a sand bag; thats with Remington Thunderbolt bulk pack ammo too. The Henry .22s don't need high dollar scopes to get great accuracy, I have a cheap 4x scope on my H001 Classic and it shoots just as well as my H001T!!

You have to make sure the rings are 3/8" because that ts what the dove tail will accept. It will not accept 1" rings.

Most .22 scopes don't come with rings. The $15 rimfire scopes at Walmart might, but I think most of the folks reading RFC do not have those type of scopes on their .22 rifles. Aside from the very first scope I bought for my first .22 rifle - Yes, a $12 Tasco from Walmart, which was quickly replaced by a much better scope - I have never purchased a scope that came with rings.

If you can put Thunderbolts into one ragged hole at 50 yards, you shoot your H001T much better than I shoot mine. I'm impressed.

Don't confuse the dovetail size with the size of the scope tube the rings are intended to fit.

Well, I never really thought of putting a high dollar scope on a .22 since a cheap one works just as well. I do have a nice Burris scope on my Henry BBS in .45 Colt as this is my serious hog hunting rifle. I always use a sandbag rest when shooting my rifles at targets. 50 years of shooting has its benefits!!
