I just put a gem of a 39a on layaway. I would say the gun is in 95% or better, and it comes with rings, bases.my question is, I didn't look at the barrel stamps, but did get serial number. #2226xxxx. Any idea when it was built? Sorry I didn't get pics of gun, shop was a little busy
Well I paid 400.00, it it is a sweet gun.i didn't want to pay that much but I had one years ago and sold it.i will have some pics in a few weeks, I have it on layaway
You got it. Reblued and stock refinished, but as you said, for a shooter, I would have bought it too. Like I said in the PM, who ever did it, did an OK job. Rounded some edges, but left the roll stamp mostly there, which some would have buffed it so half of it would be gone and hard to read.
Compared to the few I seen around here for sale, they looked like truck guns, and cost 600.00 and over figured I better jump on it, wanted one for a long time now
Thanks everybody, went to casino last night and won enough to pay it off,60 day layaway turns into 6 days..they have a couple of square bolt Marlins out now, noticed them yesterday, gonna take a look. Don't know what calibers
Here's what it looks like now, I put a Bushnell 4× on it, old leather sling..Don't care for scope but I have a old weaver k3, and have a line on a compact leupold m8 4x
Nice all scoped up and with a sling that is just the way l used to outfit my 22s when l used to hunt many moons ago :bthumb:
