Question Weaver Grand Slam riflescopes durability on big calibres

Log in to see fewer ads
Hallo anyone!
I have Weaver Grand Slam riflescope 5-20x50, standard edition, last series, but it's mounted on .22LR rifle. Now I am selling it to a guy, but he want to know, how are those riflescopes durable on normal hunting calibres like 308win etc.

Can you tell me from you knowledge and experience?

Sincerely, Mark

I have a 3-12 GS on my 308 AR10 and no issues so far. I think it will hold up fine and in the instructions, it basically says the reticle was designed for large caliber rifles.

I'd be inclined to go buy a decent scope for the rifle I'm selling and keep the GS for future use. They are great scopes and getting pretty rare in the marketplace.

I've had/have quite a few GS scopes and have had them mounted on everything from 22lr to 30-06 rifles without ever having an issue with any of them.

I agree with above post that you might want to hang on to it. They are getting very hard to find. The ones I do see for sale are up around $700 - $800+.
