What happened to the thread on the 52E Calfee sporter? Did I miss something? Not interested in rifle, but would sure like to have s/n for my records if anyone has it.

Only a fool would turn a brand new never used 52E into a sporter when there are literally dozens of 52B used rifles out there with mags that could be converted to sporters with half the work and same outcome, with half as much invested.

thread

Steve,

BC has a record of "taking his ball and going home" if others don't agree with his thinking. However I suspect it was turning into a "bashing".

I suspected it had probably been removed, but could not understand why. Also, I do not understand the secretive s/n. Was hoping one of our readers might know the whole number...just wanting to add it to my database.

6 minutes was all it took for the Calfee Bashers to come out. That is why the last thread got deleted.

And here we go again...

I'm ambivalent,

I found both his manner and writing style to be tedious separate from the actual content, and thus never looked at the thread again. However it wasn't worth commenting on given that the thread seemed to be intended to be equal parts trolling and pot stirring.

But I'm glad it's gone, none the less.

Steve, best guess 125000 unless you already have that one. Cool number for sure. 123456 would be cool as well.

I own E123457, but do not have 123456 listed for anyone. Also do not have a record for E125000. That would be a cool one!

Only 6 minutes? Poor Bill he is always the victim. It is amazing to me that if someone doesn't drink his brand of cool-aid then they are negative thinkers.

Over and out

Did I tell you that one was originally issued to an Olin VP. I bought it from the widow.

The thread was about a certain rifle, not about someone being a victim, or a fool, or about drinking kool aid. No one said anything about negative thinkers either.

If you don't like the way someone writes, don't read his stuff. If you don't agree with someone's ideas, don't start calling names.

I agree- I do not know Mr. Calfee personally but I have been reading his material for along time on different forums and precision shooting magazine. His ideas and proven success have almost always been positive in the accuracy of 22 benchrest rifles. If nothing else he has made people think in the way they approach putting together a accurate 22. Why people ridicule this man for that is beyond me. He even built a pistol that was competing with the rifles. If Im not mistaken-I believe that the new turbo actions that alot of people are raving about are built to his specifications. He is the only person I know that found out that some of the 37's have ratchet barrels. I would think people would credit a man for sharing what he knows for the betterment of 22 accuracy. The way I look at it -if you don't share or like his ideas don't use them.
