So I'm driving home from San Jose yesterday and dang if I can't read the highway signs until I'm almost on top of them.

My eye doctor warned me and set up this appointment three months ago.
He sure can call 'em!

1. If you're like most people, you don't realize just how bad your vision has gotten, including color perception.
2. You'll be stunned by how good your vision is once they've cleared the cataracts and slipped in the lenses.
3. There is nothing to worry about and you'll wish they'd done it long ago.

Good luck. Don't do like a brother-in-law did and wait until you are blind in one eye to have it done.

I had mine checked 10 days ago. Same as three years ago. Small, slow growing, no need to do anything yet. That may change in 6 months or 6 years and no way to tell.

Worth it

Had my left eye done two weeks ago today. Also had a Toric implant corrective lens put in. Worked so well I had to take the left lense out of my glasses. Can't wait to get the right eye done. Will still need reading glasses.

I had my right eye done last December, amazing results. I didn't realize how bad it was! I can see now how much difference in colors, when I look through my left eye , all dull and gray compared to my right. doc said my left wont be ready for a while now.

Yes, I speak from personal experience. My world had a yellow tint that happened so slowly that I didn't notice. Now colors jump out at me.

But the VA tortured me by waiting 5 years to do my left eye after fixing the right. Can't complain, it wasn't their fault, but I envied my friend who got both done in the same week.

Make sure you check out the latest lenses. They are much better than the ones they gave me quite a few years ago. I wish I could get them redone. I asked but they would not redo them.

At my my most recent eye examination the optician indicated that if you live long enough you will get cataracts. That response was right after his mention of a slow growing cataract that he found in my right eye. So, those of you who believe that they have dodged that particular vision bullet, get in to see an optician to accurately assess your overall eye health. My eye examination cost $65.00.

My otherwise intelligent BIL knew that glaucoma ran rampant in his family but did nothing to see precisely how advanced his particular glaucoma might be. Then one day as he was driving his trailored excavator to a new job site he lost all vision in his right eye and now his left eye vision is fading fast. Due to his long standing lack of attention to his eye health he'll probably be totally blind in under two years. The one hour comprehensive optician conducted eye exam is really worth the $$$.

You can't mess with not taking care of your eyes. Get the annual exam at the very least. Don't wait or put it off.

fortunately you are issue 2.

But if you have it in both eyes, you need to do something about it.

I think after the surgery is all done with and you are home, you will kick yourself a big one for waiting.

good luck.
