CCI HM2 ammo - any good?

Has anybody tested the new CCI HM2 ammo in a bolt-action rifle? Looks like they're using the same black-colored plastic tip bullet as on their A17 HMR round, which shoots really well in my CZ 452. Just wondering how they stack up against Hornady, Eley, etc.

All the .17m2 ammunition being made now is from CCI it may be boxed as Hornady but its all CCI manufactured. Only two manufacturers have ever made .17m2, Eley (also sold as Remington) and CCI.

Haven't tried it in a bolt gun, but ran a box through a Ruger conversion yesterday.

It was unremarkable accuracy wise, Hormandy shot better. I averaged about 80fps below the hornady, guessing it's down a little for liability sake in autoloaders. Ironically this was the same case 10 years ago, must have kept the same formulation.

Looking at the box CCI is labeled 2010 hornady is 2100. Real world average 2003 and 2086 respectively, slower and less accurate in my conversion.

I have shot them side by side. The Hornady shot just a tad better in my bolt action rifle. With that said it would be very hard to say Hornady is better. They were that close in accuracy. I sent an email asking if they were they were of the same recipe since they are made by CCI machines. I was told each company has it's own recipe. GW

Shot both the other day but weather was so bad I gave up on trying to get a fair comparison. Looked fairly similar from what I did shoot but will go out on a nicer day and try to evaluate a little better. Have about 3500 rounds of Hornady so I'm hoping it is better.
