I noticed when I was shooting this Sunday a few issues that needed to be addressed. One was the scope was too high and too far forward causing a problem getting a good cheek weld. Another was the bolt was not as smooth as I like, so today I had some time and I took it apart. Sanded the inside of the receiver a bit, blue locktite on the v block and scope rail screws, changed the scope rings, did the aluminum tape bedding trick and put a couple ofpressure pads under the barrel. One right in front of the v block and a small one near the end of the forearm. Hopefully we will get some cooler temps later this week (been 94-99 everyday lately) and I can do some more shooting. I will post up the results then.

I have done the al tape on my own plus a few for friends, and it has always showed some improvement.
A steadier set up will also make a world of difference, plus some cooler temps. You would never catch me out there on days like your getting.

I have done the tape on some of my other 10/22s, it does seem to help. It wasnít too bad when I first started Sunday, I was in the shade but as the day progressed I was in full sun. I played with the pressure pad a little yesterday, enough to see the rifle shoots better with one near the end of the forearm.
