How come the search function only goes back to 2016/2015?

Did something happen to the database from earlier than that date range?

Am I searching incorrectly?

For example, searching for "Pardini" gets me results that go back only as far as December 2016.

Any help would be appreciated, because I know there's waaay more info available on RFC.

Seeing a similar lack of older results with a test of my own. I'll look into it

That sounds about like the last time the forums had a major meltdown or shift to new forum management software.

It would be tragic if the older content was lost; there's a LOT of really great content from the early '00s from shortly after the 22World forum shut down & everyone from over there [like me] shifted to being full-time RFC'ers for their rimfire fix...

Seems like the search will need reindexing.
Will see if I can get this escalated.

I really appreciate this!

There's waay too much valuable knowledge on RFC for it to not be searchable.

So my usual fix for gaps in the search is crashing each time I run it, suggesting there is different problem then just not finding threads.

Any updates on this issue?

I've spent the last few weeks working my way through 758 pages of Remington threads, and am only up to page 453 so far. Search-ability would sure be more efficient.

Thanks!

Not being obnoxious but try searching with google alot of time it works better than the internal search tool.

Not obnoxious AZTarget, just realistic. I agree, starting a search with Google is a good way to go.

Say I wanted to search for "hammerli" but only in the Handguns forum. What sort of search string/phrase do I need to use? I'm not the most computer literate guy, so I need to have my hand held for this sort of stuff.

Thanks!

Take a look at this. It's going to limit the search to RFC but it's not going to limit it to the handgun forum.

We were able to fix the error that was preventing the site Search Rebuild to complete, ran the rebuild, and my example threads are now showing up.

If anyone still sees a gap, please let me know

Kevin
