Also, while I don't agree with this sentiment, the SA-22 is considered "dainty" rather than "refined", as I believe it is. Tactical is "in", walnut and steel is "out".
It is also the only rifle that I know of that is in production today that was designed by John Browning himself. That was one of the main reasons I bought mine (also, the most unique .22 semi-auto in existence).

You might like to read this article in it's entirety...

Quote:
6. According to company officials, nine of John Browning’s designs are still being manufactured today: the M85, M86, M92, M94, 1911, Hi-Power, SA-22 (pictured below) and BAR. Four of them live on in direct adaptations of John’s work: the Citori, 1911-22, 1911-380 and A5.

Not to worry...today's CDNN emails had all three models back on sale. I wonder how many they have left and how many they have sold?

I love the Maple stock but don't really want a shorts only rifle. I'd buy a Maple 22lr in a heartbeat.

Buy two and marry the components to suit yourself.

Assuming that the furniture would swap easy enough with little or no fitting, that is an interesting option. I guess I could try and sell the shorts with the walnut stock...

Hmmm...

I'm having a lot of fun with my new SA-22 Short rifle. I have a Leupold 2-7x28mm on it now, but I think I may put a slightly more powerful scope on it when I have the funds.

Yes, unfortunately CDNN won't ship semi-auto long guns [or any handguns] to CA, regardless of their complete legality behind the Granola Curtain. So, if they're going to boycott me, I guess I have to boycott them.

They may not be outright thieves like CTD, but they seem to have been overcome by the same lawyers that ruined Sportsman's Guide over a decade ago. C'est la vie... Please boycott them at your leisure, so they get the idea thru their skulls that we're all in this together! [/End of rant.]
