Your best bet is to keep an eye on the offerings of GunsInternational.A good selection of Belgian versions to be found there(... I recently sold two of mine there)
Though I think that I know a fair amount about Browning SA 22s, I can't confirm details of shorts having other than a 22 inch barrel, except for a special order.

I have one that belonged to my Granddad. It is a wheelsight version with a 21 inch barrel. It was made in 1956.

I am always a day late when i see one pop up on guns international. i once read that they were discontinued quickly because carnival workers didn't like the 19" gallery guns due to the ease of someone sweeping them with that short barrel.
here is an old link to one that sold.

Well I found what i am told is a 1956. I Bought it, check went out today, hopefully I will see it by the end of next week. It has the 22" barrel. According to the gun store owner he checked the "Browning book" and the 19.25" were only made the first part of 1956. So possibly a short barrel 1956 would be fairly rare. I guess I'll keep looking. Is there a limit on how many sa-22's a guy should have? Dang things are addictive!

I have a 1956 SA22 with the 19+" barrel SN A307.
Sorry NFS. It is my boyhood rifle and will go to a grandson

BTW, I got it LNIB in 1956 from a Texan who had ordered it special and then decided he didn't want a short only. His loss, my gain!

Looks like you already bought, but just a heads-up that if you're not dead-set on an older one, CDNN has the reissues with the 22" barrel.
