Bubba'd for my boy

Hey all.
Have been gifted a second old anschutz single shot.
Since my son is now showing an interest i thought I would make it fit a bit better.

Have busted out the tape measure and gave the stock a trim and got into shaving the wrist section.
It fits him pretty well. Still an inch and a half long for him at this point.

Will trim barrel down to 16"

Have had a productive morning.
Stripped action down and parted het off to 14 3/4" and had a go at machining an 11 degree crown.

Got that done then dropped her off to tge Smith to get the foresight dovetail machined.

Well that was a quick smith job.
He did the job on the spot.
Hit her with a sander and liquid shoe polish and now just a bit of oil for a few days to get a seal.
Overall pretty happy with this budget project.

So is my son

You don't usually want to see Bubba and Anschutz together, but that's some really nice work. Congratulations.

Yes it is.
In my country the length of the entire rifle is what determines if its a rifle or a pistol.
762mm is the changeover length

Send a message via Yahoo to Travelor
If I read correctly, shortening the barrel to less than 16" makes the rifle a SBR and requires a BATF tax and background search. Right now it is a ticket to go to jail.
