i am new to this, does anyone near DFW area that will like to hook up ?
it is becoming hard to find places to shot 100 or pass 100 with a 22lr in fact last time i checked non of the local public places around here let you shoot pass 100.

You have to got to private ran gun ranges for that and then you still have to qualify.
I havent checked if there were any gun restrictions on it.

There is a gun range on highway 51 north of Decatur that has ranges out to I think 1,000 yards.
May be 500yards

There is a private range in poolville that has a 200 and I think a 300.

Anything in Dallas/Tarrant/Denton/Collin counties will max at 100.

There are a few regular 22 LR matches I'm aware of that are within reasonable driving distance. I live in Fort Worth and have participated in several of them. I've found them to be be very enjoyable in all aspects. On the second Saturday of each month, Jacob's Plain Gun Club has an NRL 22 match at their location near Greenville (about 1.5 hour drive for me). On the last Saturday of most months, the North Texas Rimfire League holds a match near Valley View (about 1.25 hour drive for me). Their match is similar to NRL 22- but longer ranges and more interesting, I find. The Arlington Sportsmans Club hold several kinds of 22 matches each month. These are open to the public. Look at their on-line calender to see what and when.

Every one I've attended are very friendly and safe; typical gun crowd. Kids are welcome. Nothing intimidating about any of them. Lots of new shooters/ lots of good shooters. They are great places to test out other's equipment and 'shake-out' your own stuff. Hope you find what you are looking for.

All mentioned are open to the public.
And they are a bargain too, IMO.

Are they private club matches or public?

Arlington sportsman club is a private gun range membership required but the matches are open to the public.

The Greenville gun range is just of I30 before you get to Greenville. The matches are open to the public, Im not sure if they require a membership during normal operations, I think they are a public range.

There is a gun range in Denton that has matches also that are open to the public but the range is generally closed to the public and requires a membership.

I dont know of any public ranges that have what you are asking for for general purpose use with out a membership except the ones I already mentioned or the ones that have monthly matches.
Aside from the match you have to have a sponsor to access to the range then even that is limited.

The Arlington sportsman club ranges are an exceptional place to go and well with the initial and yearly due for unlimited use.

If I didnt live between Chico and Bowie texas I would have a membership there. Not to long ago I lived in Decatur and looked seriously at getting a membership.

I understood your inquiry as wanting a gun range you can go to shoot at on a more regular basis than just at matches.

There is a gun range on 121. Im not sure if they are technically Fort Worth or Haltom City.
121 and minnis drive. It private but its a nice range. 100 yards is the longest they have.
They used to have some kind of .22 match.

I have no idea what the contact number.

There is a public range in kennedale or is locals called it kennedale technically Ft.Worth.
Its a public range. Last time I was there the place was in bad shape.
I dont think they have anything over 100yards, I may be wrong.

There is another public range which I will recommend for a general public use.

Quail creek gun range

Several RFC members regularly visit this range.
You can ask ClemE what the longest range or call them.

The last range I went they had a big pretty sign that “ said)
NO 22LR RIFLES ON THE 100 yard lanes.

Wish I then asked very nicely why
And the range officer said
“ them 22’s drop so much you can’t hit anything at 100”

I just went to my 50 yard lane remembering all the times I’ve helped people spotting because they don’t know where they’re hitting with their high caliber rifles.

We that can sit down and make any kind of decent cluster on one printer sized piece of paper with a .22lr are a small percentage of the crowd now a days.

Few can even hit a Prairie dog sized object at a 100 yards with out spraying bullets to do it.

I havent shot at 100 but one club shoots eggs @ 100, monthly, actually couple clubs.
When they get a tie, quite often, they switch to jelly beans..

So much for the dude posting near here saying cant hit anything at 100. Takes practice and equip...
