Bore guide color?

What's your preference for a bore guide if you could choose? White, yellow, red, or black?

If I had my druthers all my bore guides would come in colors so it'd be easy to tell which is for what rifle at a glance. I really wouldn't care what the colors are. I'd just just like to be able to tell a 40x guide from a Suhl or Anschut guide. (my Anschtz guides, to their credit, already do that. The one for 54 actions is a different color from the 64 guide.)

It's a nuisance that most of them are white.

I like white so I have a shot at seeing what I am doing. Black parts in a black rifle aren't easy to discriminate for some of us.

White is most likely the color that will be made. Your prototype that is on the way to you is black, unfortunately.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. j/k

I understand that you are sending a prototype. I'm just thinking as a customer, a white piece stands out on a bench or in a rifle. I have a bunch of those Tapco pin pusher/safety flag pieces in yellow -- they are easy to find and I never wonder what I'm looking at.

Lloyd, I'm not discounting your reasoning for color coding. I'd gouge a bit out of each one and apply nail varnish to the gouged out part in whichever color I wanted.

Prototype is great, but for the production unit I think white would be best. The spring plunger will not be necessary IMO. The guide fits snug on the barrel stub without it. If the small hole is where it will be located is then it won't work for guys like me with a Lothar Walther barrel anyway, as they use a dimple at the 6 o'clock position instead of an annular ring. Thanks for delivering a much needed product. Guys...if you have a dedicated .22LR AR upper, you need one of these.

Where can one get these bore guides? Currently using a JP ar15 bore guide with my dedicated 22 upper, is there a difference/advantage to this one?

This guide is in production and expected to be available in small numbers in late February. It is designed to interface directly with a dedicated 22lr upper barrel (and to a 223/556 with an adapter that will come shortly afterwards).

I'll put them up on www.BoreBuddy.com when they are ready! I don't ever take payments in advance, too much potential for drama if parts take longer or don't turn out on the first go.
