Not a clue without pictures and any info stamped on in. Tru Test was a name used by True Value Hardware stores.

only thing stamped is use 22lr use smokeless grease only

Looks like a Stevens 87 or Savage 6. Nice old rifle. Often refered to as the "click clack" or "gill gun". Give it a good cleaning. When you relube the action do so sparingly. They can gum up from powder fouling and slow down. I use a dry spray lube in my M87. Enjoy it. It's a classic.

Savage made this gun for many many years. They made it for a variety of private label/store brands as well. Knock offs were made by Krico in Germany and Sportco in Australia. The gills were on other guns as well, like the British made BSA Armatic. A neat design, with great longevity.
