Grandmasters (Power Custom) mag release question

Grandmasters/Power Custom says its extended magazine release for the 77/22 does not work with synthetic stocks. What is the difference in configuration between the synthetic and wood stock that would make the extended magazine release work with one and not the other? Is it possible to modify the release to work in a synthetic stock and how difficult would it be?

Unfortunately Volquartsen discontinued their extended release for the 77/22 and Grandmasters seems the only one still in production.

It won't work with the boat paddle stocks as the mechanism is different than the all metal trigger guard.

If I'm not mistaken then post boat paddle stocks have traditional bottom metal and would work.

I will say this, it didn't have the best angle and when slung dropped a lot of mags, would use again but only from the bench.

Thank-you. This has been very helpful. Mine has the post-boat paddle with traditional bottom metal. Looking at pictures of the boat paddle I can now see the difference. I'm going to order one from Grandmasters and give it a try. Thanks again.
