457 caliber change???

Log in to see fewer ads
I have searched, but so far not found a definite answer

If I buy a new precision trainer in 17hmr, and then want to swap barrel for 22lr,
1. Do I need a new 22lr bolt??
2. Will changing the barrel back n forth hurt accuracy over time??
3. What is the barrel diameter on the Precision Trainer, and is it actually a straight bull profile??
Thanks

1. No samebolt, will need magazine fo 22 and little piece to make it fit.
2. I dont think so.
3. The 16 and 20 are bull , i think .86, definatley not .92.
The 24 on the 455 was a heavy tapered profil , i dont knobw about the 457.

A bit off topic, but think how often you will be switching barrels around, If you think it will be often then why not get a second rifle and enjoy them both. I realize this isn't the least expensive way to go.

Caliber swaps are the same as the 455's and 455 barrels can be used.
