First club match of the new year. We just had a big weather front come through last night so the winds were 15-25 MPH.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~30X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 1-11-20
Class: AAA

Match #1, Standard Rifle
Class: AAA

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 24

I was honestly surprised I got this good a score.

Match #2, Hunter Rifle
Class: AAA

Chickens - 2 (ouch!)
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 2 (ouch again!)
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 18

I wasn't so lucky with my shots this time. Two Chickens was very humbling.

It's almost comforting to know that even out of the four master shooters the highest score the whole day was a 28.

Tomorrow will be our air rifle match since it got pushed back a week. It's supposed to be colder but almost no wind so scores should be better than today.

Our monthly air rifle match, albeit one week later than usual. We had ten shooters (more than usual) so we had to do two relays for each match. I paired up with a new guy so he could use my rifles in the second relay.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 1-12-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: AAA
Anschutz 2002 SuperAir
JSB Diablo Exact RS (7.33) pellets
Sightron BigSky @ 24X

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 26

Not bad for not having shot this rifle in a month.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
JSB Exact Heavy Diablo (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 27

Very happy with 8 Turkeys but less so on the Chickens and Pigs.

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
Air Arms HFT 500
Weaver T-24
JSB Exact Heavy Diablo (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 10
Turkeys - 10
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 35

Woot! A new personal best with the new Open rifle and my first Master score for this rifle. (I've gotten one other 35 with the TX200 in Sporter rifle.) Started on Pigs and after cleaning the Turkeys I started having delusions of grandeur. Took out the first six Rams before a miss so 26 hits in a row. Those darned Chickens will be the death of me. Still, I tied for first place in Open but by virtue of more Turkeys got the win.

Thanks, and yes they are! I got lucky and had a time of almost no wind while I shot them.

I'm really getting tuned in to this HFT-500. I sure wish I could shoot my smallbore rifle like this PCP.

Club match on the south side of town. Had a good turn-out of 12 people. A bit of wind during the second match.

SK Rifle Match

Match #1, Standard Rifle
Class: AAA

Chickens - 9
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 3 (ugh)
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 27

Turkeys really kicked my butt. Missed one of the Pigs with a shot between the legs.

Match #2, Hunter Rifle
Class: AAA

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 10 (Woot!)
TOTAL - 31

I missed two pigs with shots between the legs... again! Finished with TIAR Rams which I needed towards a Grand Slam. Now I just need Turkeys in both rifles. (Ugh!) Also, had I gotten one more point it would have been a Master score, my third Master score, bumping me up to Master class.
