Nephews need rimfire scopes

My dad wishes to get two scopes for strictly shooting at 50 yards, for his two grandsons, at the range. I've always liked the Simmons 3-9, with the Adj. Objective, but I believe they've been discontinued, and I'm looking for alternatives, that are below $100 each. What do you recommend?

thanx

These are going on Ruger 10/22's, for Christmas presents.

Spend a tiny bit more and get a Nikon Rimfire scope. Well worth it and a solid scope to grow with.

Refurbished $79.00
New a bit over $100

Thanks, all three responses are viable...I'll weigh them against each other.

My son had one of the Nikon Prostaff rimfire II scopes for a while, til I sold it and upgraded to a Weaver RV9. It was a pretty good scope. Didn't have the AO to get a clear focus for 25yd group shooting, but was clear with a good reticle, and worked fine for everything else. It was a bit large to sit on a Henry youth lever gun (which looks odd with any scope actually), and the RV9 went on sale. Otherwise, we'd still have it.

For 50 yards the Simmons 22 mag 4x32 works just fine. Light, slim and inexpensive at about $33 each. Keep it simple. If you are getting 2 it would be free shipping at Optics Planet and 11% off with coupon CYBER.

50% off Vortex

Not sure if you're a member of Experticity (www.experticity.com) or a Vortex fan, but they're having a 50% off MSRP on all Vortex scopes.

Hope it helps.

I second Nikon scopes. 2 of my three 3 kids have Nikon fixed 4 power rimfire scopes on there rifles. That work great from about 20 yards to about 100 yards on steel targets. Only time that we shot at paper is when we sight them in.
