I was turned on to Otis about 5 years ago. Have not use a rod since then. The pros are you can put it anywhere. You have all parts needed to clean multiple calibers in a puck sized case. And you pull from the breech to the crown. No crown damage. I can't think of any cons because I like the system so much.

The Otis is a good system but it wont get a stuck case or squib out. I keep a cleaning rod in my range bag after not having one when I needed it and I have needed it more than once. I keep a small bottle of CLP in the Otis bag.
I am going to look for that plastic line. I like the idea of just pushing the line through the patch.

I use Otis cleaning cables for both handguns and rifles. The system works well and the kits are very compact. The vinyl-coated cables allow breech to muzzle cleaning and will not scratch up the crown of your barrels.

I got one for all my pistols. Otis had a buy one get another free a few years ago when they first came out. Have not used any yet because of some health problems that prevented me from shooting. Have you used yours and how many times can you use it before it's too dirty to use. And how do you clean them.

Thanks Rob

Ottis cleaning system

I have small caliber one for17 air gun and 22 pistol and rifle.Handy to take to range for cleaning in between shots. I also use patch-worm with vfg felts at range.

I have cleaning rods also but it is easier to clean 10/22 with ottis system. I have adapter that I can use standard brushes on the ottis cable. You can also use standard patches if Ottis ones are hard to find.

I tried to make my own line but didn't have much luck for ends kept coming off.

Vfg and dewy are also making similar systems and they all work ok in certain conditions.
