Well Doug I now realize how old this thread is. I have never been a big 52 guy I really just never felt they were as nice or appealing to me for the prices they sold for. I had a nice reproduction 52B sporter and it was nice, I liked it but still doubted that an original could be that much better for the prices they sold for. I my mind I just could never see what was the big deal about them. So I never have really even thought about buying one. THEN I SEEN THIS POST. I really like what they did with the bolt handle, I love it. I also love how it really is still a 52 and just so right but not over the top as to be not useable perfect wood and style. I mean everyday all day long I am thinking about heading down this road to build a duplicate of it. Yea I think I could pick up a 52B Target. barrel this coming year, talk to Canyon Creek and the following year send it off to have done. Like a two or three year project, I could swing it..Just have to commit to it.
Yea a lovely Rilfe that has me looking at a 52 in a whole different light.

Somehow I lost several of the pics and with a max of five pics attachments, I have to resort to a new post for the remaining.

Winchester 52s are not specifically mentioned in the Bible, surprisingly, as one of the things to not covet. There is the blanket commandment to not covet goods (including blankets!), but Moses didn't know about the 52 back then--and might have made an exception if he did.....I think you can get off on a technicality.

When you get to the Pearly Gates, just show St. Peter a pic of dbr65's on your Smartphone. They probably have a whole warehouse of 'em up there.

dbr65, thanks for posting the pics again. It was driving me nuts that I couldn't see it as I went through this thread.
