Stock for Romanian M1969 Trainer?

Copying this question from the Stocks subforum, for wider distribution.

Does anyone know of a stock that would fit the Romanian M1969 trainer with little to no modification?

I have tried Boyd's, and tried fitting my CZ 457 stock just out of curiosity. Both were dead ends.

I'm wondering if a Brno Model 1 or 2 stock would fit the M1969. Anyone have both guns and can check on this?

http://www.gunville.com/shopping.html

go to "other brands", and scroll down, there is a M1969 sporter stock...on sale too

I've only handled the m1969, but it appears different enough that it will not be anywhere near drop in to a BRNO stock.

p.s. there's also this: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/842294452

Wow, that is awesome! Thank you! Makes sense that some entrepreneur would step in and fill the gap for a nice stock for unusual guns.

If youíll notice the wrist on the stock that Gunville has is straight instead of a pistol grip like what you have. I donít know if the inletting is the same or not but thatís the reason I didnít get one myself.

Thanks, actually I hadn't noticed that! I was too busy ogling the wood itself.

Hot tip for my fellow geezers: you know you're getting old when you see a pretty girl walking a dog, and you check out the dog first.....

I saw it was straight too...scratched my head on that one.

Anyway, They are nice guys that run the place, it's worth a call to them double checking the inletting or even seeing if there's an option for that stock with a pistol grip.

They will also duplicate your stock for you. I talked to one of the guys there(donít remember which one) about duplicating the stock on my #3 when I found a crack in front of the bolt handle. He gave me a price and since they didnít have an example of a #3 stock he offered a discount if they kept the stock. Ultimately, I bought one from jojo_svk that was an original #3 that had not been refinished. But if I hadnít found the one I now have the price they offer is hard to beat.

Yup. I sent in my Model 5 stock to be duplicated and let them keep the original...which was solid but very rough. Of course, I still haven't installed their copy. Instead, my M5 is mounted in a Model 1 stock that I cut down to youth length so my son can learn on it.
