What did you decide to do with the old Kimber ?
Bob
I put a new barrel on it and it shoots very well but I am accustomed to shooting the Ruger now and it would take a lot of shooting to get back into form with the Kimber. I shot a couple targets with it this month and they were in the mid 460s.

Merle, I had mine done 2 years ago, about a month apart. The worst part was the eye drops, I slopped that everywhere and it burned my eyes. My friend had a different Dr. and had no eyedrops.. I could shoot a couple days after the surgery as long as there was no recoil. Now I can't see very good closeup even with glasses and see pretty good at distsnce without glasses. Over all well worth it. Can still shoot irons if I can find s smsll enough aperture. If the light is real good I can shoot pistol irons with 1.25 readers but that red dot is hard to beat. I really dreaded the surgery but it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck to you,
Jake

Bob, thanks for the kind words, the target is the 50 yd center which is also the 25 yd timed and rapid target. I'm shooting slow and using both hands so am fudging it quite a bit. With the rifle it is about 20 points easier but much better than not shooting at sll.

Merle, I know what you mean about getting jittery about eyes. Best of luck with yours, hope all goes smooth. FWIW, everyone I know who has it done has had no problems and the improvement has been great.

Taking off for a few days, might not get a chance to shoot again this month so this is my best so far
Shooting the scope today I had to force myself to "trust your best hold and squeeze" When I did that all shots were inside the 9 ring. When I tried forcing the shot they were all over the place
Such a simple game this is, until my head gets in the way...

Bob

It’s seems simple .
Since my lay-off and recent starting back to shooting offhand , as I shot , and made mistakes , I started remembering little things that help . Something as simple as following through with a shot . So hard to remember every shot , until I drop one into the six ring . Then it’s like , “ oh yea , I need to continue to hold on target after the bang “

If I may, a bit of advice from one who's been there, with mixed results...
A mixed result is just one of my anxieties. My doc gave me very low restrictions on what I could lift and the odds (5%) of post operative retinal detachment when it is performed at my age. Even at 5%, he still wants to do it.

You aren't the only one. I'm not even scheduled and I'm terrified over it.
