Need reccs for a point n shoot for taking gun pics

~$200 +/- if that can happen.

Old age and health issues are causing me to thin the herd and not leave it for my wife to do, since she has zero idea of what they are worth.

Being able to do Macro is a must to show details, markings, etc. But I really don't want a macro only like one of my Dr's has, like a 2-3" focus. He's wound care and just takes shots of the wound as it heals or doesn't. I'd like to be able to fit at least a whole pistol in the shot, or a good chunk of a long gun.

Any suggestions? If I could keep it around $200 or less, that would be great, but I could go a bit more if needed, Don't want junk, nor do I nee a $500+ rig. A point n shoot is almost mandatory with the RA in my hands. It's hard to manipulate much of anything.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Any Canon Elph would probably work. I use an IS150 with a 20MP capture.

The Nikon cost $70 new (some years back) and the Panasonic Lumix ZS50 can be had for $150 or so (refurbished). Look for sales on the Lumix, this one has a Leica lens,30 x zoom, with macro a half inch.

We have two Panasonic's now and thinking about a third.

Plenty of good cameras in your price range...

Won't a phone do what you need? Maybe if this is a serious collector quality question you need more. My phone with picture editing is much more capable than I actually do in most cases.

That.

I take pictures of all the items I sell here with my iPhone 5 (then do some minor photo editing as needed). Never saw a need for anything better.

A bigger problem is getting adequate lighting so sometimes I will shoot outdoors in the shade.

What I ended up with is a Canon SX720 HS Power Shot.

Going to construct a light box and get a decent tripod. Going is kinda slow, but sure. Especially trying to read the owners manual online. A hard copy is much preferable for me and trying to read all that information on a tablet, one page at a time and not being able to flip pages back and forth drives me nuts.

Guess it's time for a new Mac!

Thanks Guys!

Some might want to try shopgoodwill.com.I recently purchased a Fujifilm Finepix Mod# S-1800 digital camera thru them to replace one that over the course of 10 yrs had finally after having inadvertently been dropped several time had lost some of it's programs that it would simply skip over. The 2 pics show are with the above described camera I purchased including shipping to me form their Charlotte N.C. based store for $25.31. I have had pretty good luck thru Goodwill on many items, many folks simply donating to them from deceased family members or simply because they had outgrown there usefullness and a donated item was a way of giving back.

I have several Canon bodies, lots of lenses but for Internet pictures it's hard to beat my Olympus C-5050, 5MP camera. I've had this since it was introduced, have shot lots of yard, knife collection and gun pictures. I just looked on Ebay and they're under $50.00 for a kit. This has a good Macro feature, too.

Shot this year:
