Did you try it yet? If not, you should. Seems it might, be a good piece of information to ferret out.

I don't know anyone with a squirrel stock or I would try it. I'm not gonna buy an old squirrel stock without knowing if it would fit.

Marlin should put the squirrel stocks on the new Model 60's. Or at least offer that as one of the current 60's. I think that would be cool.

You will either need to modify the stock to pass through the last shot hold open lever or remove the LSHO feature. The trigger guard will also need modification

I've milled a slot into an stock to accept the LSHO lever. A dremmel will work if you are patient and careful

Here's a nice pic of the differences...
Top-current model square guard with LSHO hole.
Middle-non-LSHO modern square guard.
Bottom-early egg-shaped rear non-LSHO.

DIP & MCarbo make nifty replacement guards.
DIP has New and Old style in Aluminium, with color options and trigger options.

It can be done, it's just a wee bit of inletting and then hiding the EGG shaped hole left over.

The easiest thing is a 50th Anniversary Stock on the 60DLX...it's a Drop in wood replacement with LSHO.
Finding one is the hard part...Numrich might...Ebay might...
I checked the Amazon Marlin site...none there anymore.
