Yes, they do have a storefront and offer "walk-in" retail sales. You can give them a call @ (207) 637-3775 to verify hours of operation.

Swiss. My friend shoots in the NSSA and only shoots SWISS. It shoots cleaner. He shoots many different early cartridge guns, Burnside, Smith and now a Starr carbine and a Starr revolver. He is also a pretty good shot with the modern stuff too.

I started with Goex forty years ago and still use it to this day. I reckon I won't be changing powders any time soon.

I met JR from the Maine Powder House when the NRA had its convention in Pittsburgh. Really nice fellow, ask him about the plus and minuses of the different powders. There is another brand, KIK, that seems to get good marks over on the cast boolit forum.

Back in 2004 I had the pleasure of meeting the Mad Monk, Bill Knight, at Dixon's Gunmaker's Fair. He talked to a friend and I for over two hours on powder production and its variables. Very interesting person. Here's some links to his writings along those lines.

This link contains the above two and several others. Some of them require a download to your email.

The laflinandrand site seems to have gone dark. Bummer.

I have and shoot 7 BP rifles and a pistol. One 54 cal flint all the rest from .32 to 54 cap guns. Shot DuPont and goex since a kid. Still do. Most everyday shooters use what's available to them. I order my powder from Graf & Son. Sometimes goex sometimes the graf & son powder.
For my generic everyday shooting it does just fine. 3F for everything priming included.
