Any one know the history of this knife? I got it in 2001 and remember it was supposed to be made out of some kind of special steel but I canít remember now.

.

It was a one-year-only issue that commemorated the 60th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack.

The sheath was included.

The blade etching was: REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR DECEMBER 7, 1941 - DECEMBER 7, 2001.

It is 12-1/8" overall with a cast metal handle cast onto the blade.

The knife is very much like the U.S.M.C. Marine Raider stiletto produced in WWII by Camillus.
(See page 46 in U.S. Military Knives and Bayonets Book III by Cole.)

The knife is based on the WWII Fairbairn-Sykes dagger, first made in England (1941).

Here's the history on the Fairbairn-Sykes knife:

Thanks, what I was trying to remember was something that the blades were made for something and found stored in a barrel so they put the handle on them as a 60 year tribute. Just can not remember what the blades were made for. I keep thinking they were made for WW1 and never completed but I may be all wrong.
