Purpose: plinking at 50 yards. The rifle currently wears a Williams rear sight. Thinking about a scope. Thoughts? 14x is probably a minimum for me. So: RFC/Henry users, whaddaya use and like?

Weaver to 14x , thatís quite a leap. Anyways Iím blind as a bat and getting worse. But all I have on my Henry, H001Y, is a 4X. I can hit a shot gun hull at 50 yards with it. Although very accurate off hand , I find lever guns donít work for me off the bench. Canít get them Back to the same spot on the bag or rest, and all that movement stops me from getting good groups consistently. So for me they are field guns.

That being said , if I were to put a 14x scope on a Henry, Iíd want a compact one, so go for a Weaver Grand Slam $300+or if youíre cheap like me a UTG $100 4x16.

pS I just put a 2x7 Nikon Rimfire on a BL 22 and it looks nice. Go over to the brownie section to see.

A Burris Timberline 4.5-14x32 has a fairly compact length of about 11" which shouldn't overwhelm an H001T. I use one on my CZ 527M carbine, am impressed with its clarity and the adjustable objective is nice. They're on sale now at Optics Planet for $265.

I hear you. The Henry is an elegant design, and a big scope kind of wrecks it. But it is either big glass or big targets. . .

That looks like the bug buster, make 2 models 3x9and 4x12, just a little bigger is the 4x16 compact.

Well not a 14x Nikon has a good 3x9 rimfire with AO. I've been mulling one of these for my small game carbine.

Yeah, sorry for the delay, but that is the 3x9x32 bugbuster. You can find them in the $60 range sometimes.
