Mine arrived.. I still need to play with them.
They made it from British Columbia to Utah in about 10 days.

I took one to our local Ace to see if they had anything comparable for future projects. We must have lame Ace Hardware stores here in Utah. Nothing remotely similar. Not even anything similar to a trigger spring either. All the springs they had were huge in comparison. I'm going to try Fastenal tomorrow.

At my local Ace the smallest one they had was close enough in diameter but about three times to long. I bought the last two they had but have not tried cutting one yet.

I installed the Yo Dave spring in my 457 varmint this afternoon. I can get it to work down to 6oz as long as I close the bolt gently. I can't get it to pass my slam test or bump test with it below 12oz. 1lb 4oz was as low as I could safely get it with the factory spring.

Have you tried anything with the Ace springs yet?

I have not tried putting one in a trigger but I can tell they are stiffer than the Yo Dave but softer than the original. I will try to see what I can do with one this afternoon.

I was able to get down to 10oz with a spring cut from an ACE spring. I had to make it about .050 shorter than the original. I don't have the number for the Ace spring but at my local Ace it was the smallest spring in their assortment. .159 dia. x 1.300 long.IMG_0788-1.jpg

Left to right original, Yo Dave and Ace. The Ace is larger in Dia. but it does fit.

The Yo Dave is very close to the size of the factory original. .365 long x .150 Dia.

Thanks Sir for all the spring testing and information. I hope I have one on hand, or can find one that will work.

Thank you. In metric that would be very close to 10mm x 4mm.
