Another Tikka range report

The weather was finally decent here today for the first time this year at least until noon when it turned cold and rained. Groups were shot at 50 yards with a decent sample of mid-range priced target ammunition and a couple of sub-sonic loads I use for pest control. The rifle showed a definite preference for SK/Lapua, all groups were 10 shots with 10 fouling shots being fired before the record groups to season the barrel when switching brands, the scope was set on 14x. Accuracy is more than adequate for a 22 rifle silhouette or a hunting rifle, I have no intentions of using it for sporter benchrest class hence the reason for not testing high end ammunition.
The Tikka is an excellent value in the rimfire world with good accuracy and excellent trigger for under 500.00 dollars.

Kevinbear, not bad for 10 shots. Is that your backyard range?

A couple of points, I don't believe it serves the forum well to shoot 20 groups with your favorite rifle and post the one tiny group from all those and insinuate that is the norm, it creates unrealistic expectations for readers that don't know that's what is happening.
Second, these lightweight sporters are not benchrest rifles, they are difficult to get good groups from consistently, I know that and so does most of the people on here with experience. Case in point, on the second target down the one labeled SK magazine those two flyers left and right high were me not paying close enough attention to cheek pressure on the stock. This particular 22 is very sensitive to that, something about the stock design and weight distribution.
I'm planning to add about 4 ounces to butt to try and get the balance correct for offhand shooting which may help that a little.

Here's the groups again with some "change" for scale, these guns group like much more expensive rimfires.
