Messed Up the Take Down Lever

I just got a new SR22. I cleaned it before I took it to the range. I did not get the Take Down Level fully seated and had it break after less than 10 rounds. I figured out the issue and got things back correctly. It works well now but I'm torn between sending it back to get fixed or leave it alone.

As you look at the end of the piece it basically has 2 mouse ears that stick up in the closed position. One of these ears is now broken off. I know it's my fault but would prefer not to hassle with sending it back to Ruger if it is not really needed. I'm looking for suggestions.

I would get it fixed. If you had a wheel on a car that is supposed to have 6 lug bolt pattern. You find out that half of them are missing. Would you get it fixed or not.

I'd get it fixed too. Ruger will turn it around pretty fast.

Is it something you can replace yourself? If so I bet a call to Ruger would get you one and probably for free.

I believe Ruger changed the lever due to breakage. When mine went back to Ruger for a broken firing pin, they replaced the slide and takedown lever, even though I didn't have a problem with it. New slide does not say "SR22 PISTOL".

Here's a link to an aftermarket lever. Plenty of videos out there showing how to replace it.
