First off, thanks to everyone who answered!
While I like the idea of the longer barrel being quieter, I think I have to head to a bigger gun shop than in my immediate area to see what it hefts like vs a shorter rifle. While there I will try to check out the Tikka, a name I remember for having an extremely accurate .308 many years back.
Those pictures in that last post, just wow. Beautiful rifles indeed.
