Best scope setup for a Sheridan (or current Benjamin) is the scout mounted pistol scope. Can be mounted lower for better cheek weld and keeps the scope out of the way for easier pumping (hold the rifle around the receiver not the pistol grip).

Any Sheridan made in Racine is worth owning. If you are looking at new stuff the Sheridan and the Benjamin are the same gun in different calibers. .22 is usually easier to find locally than .20. Me, I like the .20 and I like the vintage guns better, but the new ones are easier to work on or tinker with.
