The shape of the checkering pattern on the fore-arm is odd.
I don't get the stylistic statement.

For my small hands, the foward checkering is fully graspable.

While the checkering under the loading/ejection port is reachable
by my first digits of my fingers and thumb.





From this angle the fore-end tip appears a very light shade.
In other images it is darker - depends on the angle of view.
Seemingly made of beech or birch. It is not.
It is, probably, made of some type of walnut like the stock.
