I would say yes, either drift the rear sight or the front sight, after making sure the action is centered in the stock without excess pressure on the barrel from the forend.

My 73 y.o. eyes don't like the open sights either (as on my Nylon 66) and I put a receiver grove-mounted peep on mine and swapped the front sight for one of the correct height. Easy shooting now.
