FWIW, Eley Force is usually in the 1175 fps range if you shoot it over a chronograph. The 1250 fps that Eley originally claimed was probably a creation of their marketing folks.

Handle one and make sure you like the way it fits. We have a couple 24" models and like them. One of them is pretty accurate, the other only shoots well with one kind of ammo but that works for us....

No argument here. That's why they are called "blow back". Everything blows back! The trigger unit of Ruger 10/22 keeps some of the crap out of the trigger, but the marlin 60 is wide open inside.
