Used some of the anti scale compound. Worked a lot better even on this small knife. Still a little bit, but tons less than without!

Got the brick forge done. Did the heat treat and temper today. Turned out better than I expected. Only thing I have a lot of scale to sand off.

Here's what my friend made me for quenching... Awesome !!! All stainless steel. 12 in tall, 4 in diameter, bottom plate 8 in. More than I'll ever need.

Changed the scales... this is left over scrap from my competition rifle. It's feather crotch claro walnut. With a finish on it .... it will blast color and grain. Took your advice again.

Put some oak scales on temporarily. Oak, since on hand, plus didn't want to waste good stuff on 1st set. I do have some micarta and some Claro walnut.
